Requirement:

• Valid Cook's certificate.
• At least 18 months as Messman on board of sea-going ships with recommendation for promotion.
• For new recruit, at least nine months sea-going experience as 2nd Cook on board ocean-going vessels and with good references from previous employers or 12 months relevant land-based experience (kitchen - international hotel/s).
• Shows reasonable knowledge of arithmetic and bookkeeping.
• Has ambition to attain Chief Cook/Steward rank.
• Age between 22 and 35 years (upon first appointment in rank).
• English ability
  - Sufficient to do on board duties.
  - Sufficient to understand and perform emergency duties.
• Nationalities Indonesians.
